Xfinity 5-Year Price Guarantee: When It Beats the 1-Year Price
On a recently quoted 1 Gig plan, the 1-year price starts $10 a month cheaper, but by month 16 the 5-year guarantee has cost less in total, and the gap keeps growing after that.

- Months 13–60
- $110/mo
- 24-month total
- $2,040
- 60-month total

Crossover: month 16. From then on, the 1-year route has cost more in total. Over 60 months the difference is $1,800, assuming the everyday rate doesn't rise.
Each price assumes Xfinity's $10 discount for bank-account autopay with paperless billing ($5 if autopay runs on a card, nothing without both) and leaves out taxes and fees. What the plan costs after month 60 isn't shown; see section 04.
Prices can change. Xfinity sets the final price, fees, equipment charges, and terms, and they can vary by address. See current offers on xfinity.com, and confirm your price with an Integra Path advisor before you order.

What Stays Fixed for Five Years, and What Doesn't
The 5-year price guarantee holds the base monthly internet rate for 60 months. It isn't a contract: you can cancel at any time without an early termination fee. Taxes, fees, and installation sit outside the locked rate.
Fixed
- The base monthly internet rate, for 60 months from the start of service.
- Your freedom to leave: no annual contract and no early termination fee at any point in the five years.
Not fixed
- Taxes, fees, and installation charges.
- The $10 autopay and paperless discount, which lasts only while both stay switched on (and is $5 with card autopay).
- Anything added on: mobile lines after their first-year credits, and StreamSaver at $18 to $35 a month.
Xfinity offers the guarantee to new Xfinity Internet customers, one per account, so cancelling and signing up again doesn't start a fresh five years. If you're planning to move or change speeds partway through, ask how that affects the guarantee before you make the change.
Five-Year Price vs. One-Year Price, at Every Speed
Totals for 24 and 60 months on each path, and the month the 1-year route falls behind. All prices come from the same Houston, TX quote.
| Speed | 24 months: guarantee vs 1-year | 60 months: guarantee vs 1-year | 1-year route costs more from |
|---|---|---|---|
| 300 Mbps | $1,080 vs $1,440 | $2,700 vs $4,320 | Month 14 |
| 500 Mbps | $1,440 vs $1,740 | $3,600 vs $5,160 | Month 16 |
| 1 Gig | $1,680 vs $2,040 | $4,200 vs $6,000 | Month 16 |
| 1.2 Gig or 2 Gig | $2,400 vs $2,760 | $6,000 vs $7,800 | Month 16 |
The 1-year totals use the everyday rate from the same quote and assume it stays put. Xfinity can raise it, so read those figures as the least the 1-year route would cost. Both paths assume the bank-autopay and paperless discount stays on, with taxes and fees on top.
Prices can change. Xfinity sets the final price, fees, equipment charges, and terms, and they can vary by address. See current offers on xfinity.com, and confirm your price with an Integra Path advisor before you order.
When the 1-Year Price Is the Better Pick
The examples use 1 Gig; the pattern is the same at every speed.
You expect to move within about a year
The 1-year price
Neither option has a cancellation fee. Leave at month 10 on the 1-year price and you'll have paid $100 less than on the guarantee.
You'll stay two years or longer
The 5-year guarantee
The guarantee saves $360 over 24 months and $1,800 over 60, using the everyday rate from the same quote.
You plan to switch providers when the year is up
The 1-year price, if you'll really switch
The saving only holds if you leave or change plans before month 13. Put a reminder in your calendar for month 11 so the everyday rate doesn't start by default.
You're not sure how long you'll stay
The 5-year guarantee
Across the four speeds, the 1-year route falls behind between month 14 and month 16. If there's a fair chance you'll still be there after that, the guarantee is the safer default.
The 1-year price isn't offered at your address
The guarantee, by default
Then there's no choice to make inside Xfinity. The useful comparison becomes the guarantee against AT&T Fiber, covered in section 06.
What Happens When the Five Years Are Up
The guarantee holds the base rate for 60 months. We haven't been able to confirm what each plan costs after that from a source we trust, so this page doesn't print a number for it.
The place to look is the plan's broadband label, the standardized fact sheet internet providers publish for each plan, which lists pricing after any introductory period. Ask for the label for the plan you're considering before you order, and we'll go through it with you on the call.
Month 61 is also a natural point to shop around again. With no contract, switching then costs nothing extra.
05 / Already With Xfinity?
If Your Xfinity Bill Went Up
The usual causes, in plain terms:
- A promotional price ended. On the 1-year price, month 13 moves the bill to the everyday rate; on 300 Mbps in the quote this page uses, that's $40 to $80 a month.
- You're on an older plan. Plans from before the current lineup can be priced differently, and some still carry a 1.2 TB monthly data cap.
- A discount dropped off. Moving autopay from a bank account to a card cuts the discount from $10 to $5; turning off autopay or paperless billing removes it.
- Taxes and fees moved. They sit outside the advertised price, and outside any price guarantee.
What to do: call Xfinity about your account, since it's the only company that can see or change it, and ask what current offers your account qualifies for. The 5-year guarantee is offered to new Internet customers, so it may not be available to you. If you're ready to leave, section 06 below compares AT&T Fiber.
For an account you already have, Xfinity customer support (Comcast customer service) handles billing, payments, and service questions through your Xfinity account or xfinity.com.
Integra Path can't access, change, or lower an existing Xfinity account.
Xfinity vs. AT&T Fiber Over Two and Five Years
Where both are built at the same address, they price differently. Xfinity can lock a rate for five years; AT&T Fiber prices with a 12-month promotional rate and then its standard rate, with no multi-year lock.
If repeated Xfinity internet outages are part of why you're comparing, look at the network as well as the price: AT&T Fiber runs on its own fiber lines where it's built, with upload speeds that match download.
| Speed | Xfinity guarantee: 24 / 60 mo | AT&T Fiber: 24 / 60 mo | Upload |
|---|---|---|---|
| 300 Mbps | $1,080 / $2,700 | $1,020 / $2,820 | Xfinity: below download at most addresses. AT&T Fiber: same as download. |
| 500 Mbps | $1,440 / $3,600 | $1,380 / $3,720 | Xfinity: below download at most addresses. AT&T Fiber: same as download. |
| 1 Gig | $1,680 / $4,200 | $1,560 / $4,440 | Xfinity: below download at most addresses. AT&T Fiber: same as download. |
On these numbers, AT&T Fiber costs less over the first 24 months at 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gig, and Xfinity's guarantee costs less over 60 months, as long as AT&T's standard rate doesn't rise.
Xfinity figures: 5-year guarantee, recently quoted for a Houston, TX address. AT&T Fiber figures: 12-month promotional rate, then the standard rate with AutoPay, from AT&T's published Fiber pricing and assumed not to change. Neither total includes taxes or fees, and a new AT&T Fiber line can add a one-time installation charge of up to $99.
Full AT&T pricing, including the 5 GIG tier, is on our AT&T Fiber plans page.
What We Check on a Call About the Guarantee
Both prices at your address. The guarantee and the 1-year price for your speed, today, and whether the 1-year option is offered there at all.
Your crossover month. With your real prices, the break-even point can move. We work it out so you can weigh it against how long you expect to stay.
The broadband label. We go through the plan's label with you, including what it says about pricing after the introductory period.
Whether the guarantee applies to you. It's for new Xfinity Internet customers, one per account.
AT&T Fiber, if it's built there. Priced for the same address so the table in section 06 reflects your numbers, not ours.
What we don't do. Xfinity technical support, billing changes, and line diagnostics stay with Xfinity. We can't access or change existing accounts.

Price Guarantee Questions
No. It fixes the base monthly internet rate for 60 months. Taxes and fees can still change, installation is separate, and the advertised price assumes you keep bank-account autopay and paperless billing; drop either and the bill rises by $10.
No. It's a price lock, not a commitment to stay. There's no annual contract and no early termination fee.
You can, and there's no early termination fee to pay. The guarantee simply ends when the service does.
The guaranteed base rate covers 60 months. We don't publish a price for month 61 onward because we haven't confirmed one from a source we trust. Ask for the plan's broadband label, which lists pricing after any introductory period, and we'll go through it with you before you order.
Yes, if you'll leave or change plans before the everyday rate adds up. On the plans in the Houston, TX quote, the 1-year route stays cheaper in total until somewhere between month 14 and month 16, depending on speed.
The advertised prices include a $10 monthly discount for bank-account autopay plus paperless billing. Stop either and the discount goes; move autopay to a card and it drops to $5.
Usually one of three things: a promotional price ended, a discount such as autopay dropped off, or you're on an older plan priced differently from today's lineup. Xfinity can see your account and tell you which; we can't.
No. We can't access or change existing Xfinity accounts. If you're open to switching, we can price AT&T Fiber at your address and tell you whether it would cost less than what you pay now.
No. The number on this page is for comparing and ordering new service. To reach Xfinity about a bill, use the Xfinity customer service phone number listed in your Xfinity account or on xfinity.com.
On these numbers, AT&T Fiber costs less over the first 24 months at 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gig, and Xfinity's guarantee costs less over 60 months, as long as AT&T's standard rate doesn't rise. Both depend on what's sold at your address, and neither total includes taxes, fees, or installation.
No, only the base internet rate. A Mobile Select line credited back for the first year is billed at $30 a month after that, and add-ons such as StreamSaver are priced separately.
